The First Ozpod Goes To Site....

Friday the 3rd of December 2015 saw the first Ozpod head off to Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park SA; joining two Family size Ozshacks purchased in November, which are already proving to be popular.

Like the Ozshacks the Ozpod have our custom curves and have Western Red Cedar bi-fold doors, window and trim to the rear wall however the exterior colours are lighter and sit alongside the existing cabins really nicely; perfect for this prime beachside location.

Louise and Shane Biddell Managers of this Council owned park have selected custom built bunk beds and Queen size bed which are built into the curves with clever storage in them allowing maximum floor space for families to move around easily. The Bi-Fold doors when fully opened create a great indoor/outdoor feel that lead out onto a large deck that has adequate space for a family size table and chairs; a sail is planned over the deck to provide great shade and add to the beachside look. Internally we have used cool colours and white washed timber that looks perfect in this setting; looking forward to receiving comments from visitors.

Yorke Peninsular Council are the first Council to purchase from us and it has been a long road, we thank them and hope that this will encourage other councils to look at them as a point of difference offering high quality accommodation to ‘Glampers’ and a mid range tariff option to tourists.

A PROJECT to build a backyard shack has turned into an Australia-wide business for Jon and Nicola Bingham.

Ozshacks has been building fully wired and insulated “wooden tents” for caravan parks and camping grounds for the past two years from its base in Adelaide, South Australia.

Their Original and larger Family Ozshacks now accommodate glampers in South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.

But it is the Binghams’ latest design they hope will help them break into the domestic market and gain a foothold across Australia.
